Sarah Armstrong - Superintendent As a new superintendent and being new to the community, I am excited to kick off the school year meeting with parents, teachers, students, and community members. I want to get to know our community and traditions that we value. I am eager to learn where USD 271 is at, both academically and socially and I look forward to learning from others about our unique district. Stockton School District was lucky enough to be one of the first schools to go through redesign. This process helped us adapt as educators to see the value in keeping the things that work and getting rid of the things that didn’t. As we move forward with KESA (Kansas Education Systems Accreditation) we know that design thinking is not a linear process but one that allows us the opportunity to work back through the steps as we grow academically. We will use this process as we continue to make research-based decisions for our students that focus on best practices. We are looking forward to revisiting our “why” and ensuring that we give our students the best education possible. I am looking forward to working with our dedicated Board of Education members on goals for the upcoming school year and beyond. Student success will be at the forefront of our decisions when coming up with specific and measurable goals that will focus on the whole child. We value the educational experience at USD 271 and want to instill lifelong learning habits in every student. A key component of our goal setting will be to utilize our student data. We will dissect our multiple data points to see where our students are thriving as well as our areas of need. We will utilize the four disciplines of execution to focus on our wildly important goals, make informed decisions based on our lead measures, keep a scoreboard as we collect data, and use our data to help hold us accountable. Stockton School District has dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators that are committed to providing our students with a rigorous education. We are excited to provide real-world experiences that will help all of our students thrive after they leave our building. We are TIGER ready! Be sure to follow us on social media to see our story unfold. #TigerPride271

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Superintendent of Schools for the Stockton School District. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to serve our students, staff, and community. I am thankful for the Board of Education and their confidence in me to help our students continue to thrive. I am looking forward to partnering with the district and community to give our students the skills they need to be successful in an ever-changing world. On a personal note, I grew up in Edwardsville, KS. My parents raised me and my three siblings to set high expectations for ourselves as well as helped us develop grit and perseverance. My husband Clint and I met in Kansas City and have been married for 11 years. We have three beautiful daughters Faith (10), Ava (8), and Coralie (4). I am thankful for a supportive husband who believes in education as much as I do. We are excited for our future in Stockton. Education is a field I am deeply passionate about! I am thankful to be joining a team of resilient and passionate teachers, staff, and administration. As an educational leader, I thrive to create a culture of learning, risk taking, collaboration, and inclusivity. I believe in putting students first and helping every scholar set high expectations for themselves. I am excited to bring my skills and passion to the Stockton School District. I want to help instill the value of becoming a lifelong learner to each student at USD 271. I am currently finishing my Doctorates Degree in educational leadership and want every student to see value in showing up to school every day. I am looking forward to partnering with students, families, and community members to bring the best opportunities to our students. While serving as your Superintendent of Schools, I plan to be accessible to all stakeholders and maintain an open door communication policy. I encourage and welcome any questions you have about our schools and our dedication to helping students find success. I look forward to serving our community.
