Community Connection:
To wrap up their reading unit with a focus on communities, the first grade classes visited Solomon Valley Clinic, City Hall, Stockton EMS and Fire, and USD 271 Disctrict Office. They enjoyed learning more about some important places within our community. They were gifted with cookies for snack at city hall, coloring books, pencils, and sticker from our first responders, and books from the district office. Thank you community helpers! #TigerPride271

Happy Thanksgiving to all in the USD 271 community! Wishing you a day filled with gratitude, joy, and time with loved ones. We are so thankful for each of you who make our district a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mrs. Reichard’s 1st grade also made their very own balloon floats after reading the story “Balloons Over Broadway.” They paraded around the classroom and continually said, “This is the best day ever!” #TigerPride271

Our Junior High spent the day before Thanksgiving break giving back to the community. They began their morning with ‘blocking the doors’ of their classrooms with non-perishable food items. 420 pounds of food was collected for the food pantry! A check for $244 was also donated from the donation of turkey feathers. They walked to the food pantry to help unload all the goods. Then ended their morning with bingo at the manor. #TigerPride271

Balloons Over Broadway. The kindergarten students learned how the real Macy’s Day balloons are made and then chose an animal to create their own balloon.#TigerPride271

The 5th graders wanted to share the balloons they made yesterday (sharpie on aluminum foil and then laminated and inflated with a straw)! During Art and Social Studies classes, they learned about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the famous balloons. #TigerPride271

November Surprise and Delight. Attendance Matters. Every Child. Every Day. No Matter What.

Substitute teachers play an essential role in maintaining the continuity of education. They step in with flexibility and dedication whenever regular teachers are absent. They adapt to different classroom environments and their presence ensures that the learning never stops. Thank you! #TigerPride 271
