Post Secondary Success of SHS; Libby Kester graduated from SHS in 1994. Injured in a bomb training accident at Washburn University, she turned her studies to early education, and after working at a couple of daycare centers, she opened her own daycare in 1999 and operated it for 23 years. She then worked for the State of Kansas as a childcare licensing surveyor for two years before purchasing Kester Auto Parts with her husband, where she now works full-time. She’s also owned her own small business on the side since 2009, making T-shirts, vinyl graphics, laser items, offering photography and more at LIB Studio.

Post Secondary Success at SHS: This is Mars (Mary) Smith, SHS Graduate of 2018. They graduated from Washburn University in 2022 with a BFA in Art Education with teacher licensure. They received the Promising Teacher Award at the Kansas Teacher of the Year ceremony in 2022. They are in their second year working with 6-8th grade students as the art teacher at Eisenhower Middle School in Topeka, Kansas. They also works as the head Student Council Sponsor for their school. They recently attended the 2024 National Art Education Association conference where They accepted the position as the Website Coordinator for the NAEA LGBTQ+ Interest Group at the national level. They are currently living in Lawrence, Kansas

At the Solomon Gorilla Powerlifting Meet the Tiger Ambush Powerlifting team was small but mighty!! Ava Dix came away with a clean sweep of all her events including a huge PR in squat of 300 lbs and an overall win!! Cason Iwanski came away with two 1st and a 2nd place He also took 1st overall. Other PR's were Haden Hahn in squat and Zach Young with a PR in squat and bench. Team placings were: Men - 15th out of 24 and our Women's team of one, Ava Dix, placed 10th out of 20! Way to go Tigers!! 💙🐅

Post Secondary Success at SHS: Angela Coble is a 1990 graduate of SHS and a 2009 grad of Washburn Law School. After working 13 years as an attorney, she was appointed by Governor Kelly and confirmed by the Kansas Senate as a judge on the Kansas Court of Appeals in 2022. She loves bringing justice to the people of Kansas and telling everyone about her Stockton roots. Go, Tigers!

Post Secondary Success at SHS: Harley Kester graduated high school in 2021 and attended the May class of 2021 at Hays Academy of Hair Design and then started working in Hoxie, Kansas June of 22’.December of 22’ she became a salon owner and in 23’ started working in Colby at a salon and now has a salon out of her house in Clayton, Ks where she works week nights and weekends . She also hold 5 certifications pertaining to cosmetology!

She recently accepted a job at Simpson Elementary School in Russell, KS as a Preschool Teacher! She currently works with kids as a Registered Behavior Technician as well as finishing off student teaching!

Post Secondary Success at SHS: Hope Turnbull, class of 2016. Graduated from NCK LPN nursing program in 2018. Currently live in Hill City and work at the local Graham County Hospital Clinic.
