BOARD TO INTERVIEW SUPERINTENDENT-HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CANDIDATE

Dr. Angela McCollum will be interviewing for the position of Superintendent-High School Principal with the Board of Education on May 2, 2024. Dr. McCollum was selected to interview based on her fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups and an online community survey utilized during the search process.
Dr. McCollum is currently serving as Asst. Director and Early Childhood in Dodge City, KS. Previously Dr. McCollum held a position with Wichita Public Schools for 12 years, serving in several positions.
You are invited to visit with Dr. McCollum at a Meet and Greet held at the School Cafeteria, May 2, 2024 at 3:45 p.m.
Stockton Grade School students spent the morning with AMAZING author, Jefferson Knapp. What an inspiration, and his props were phenomenal! His message: use your imagination and find what you want to do in life and do it! Jefferson is a Kansas author with an incredible 6 book series called The Kingdom at the End of the Driveway. What an opportunity for our students to hear his message and to buy his books. #TigerPride271

Each week in April, Rachel from the Extension Office, helped extend our kindergartners' reading and science learning with our focus of “ From Plant to Plate”.
Week 1: The classes added dye to flowers to see them change colors. Week 2: They planted wildflowers and watered them daily. Week 3: The classes painted and made a butterfly. Week 4: They focused on decomposition, recycling, and observed worms and pill bugs.

"Nex-Generation has partnered with the Young Americans Center for Financial Education in Denver, CO, to bring Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas to Northwest and North Central Kansas.
Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas is a four-to-six-weeks, financial literacy and career development curriculum designed for 4th - 8th grades (adaptable for high school, too) that teaches basic economics, banking, money management, government, communications, entrepreneurship*, philanthropy, and employment.
The culmination of the classroom experience is a field trip to Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas in the former Lenora High School building, in Lenora, KS, where students-turned-citizens fill real-world roles as mayor, judge, police officers, mail carriers, managers, accountants, key employees, and volunteer fire fighters.
Students spend their “paycheck” at all 10 shops (Bank, Towne Hall, Snack Shop, Container Shop, NEW Digital Media Agency, Energy Resources, NEW Nex-Great Idea Entrepreneurship Shop, TV Station, Radio Station, and Medical Center), as well as donate to local charities.
Teachers evaluate student success through accomplishment of classroom exercises, involvement in Towne, and completion of shop books and individual bank accounts."

Our 5th and 6th graders attended Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas on Thursday, April 25th. Thank you Mrs. Dryden and Mrs. Moffet for leading the lessons that lead to this hands-on field trip.
🎤 It was a big day for our 6-8 band and 7-8 choir members as they performed at the league music festival! Thank you Mrs. Riener and Mrs. Jameson!
