Rooks County Update
March 5, 2021
Rooks County continues to see a decrease in new COVID-19 cases throughout the county. This week the absenteeism rate is at 0.7% above the baseline from 2019-2020. The positive testing rate is at 10.1% this week. Rooks County continues to receive weekly allocations of the COVID-19 vaccine and will follow the Kansas Vaccination Phases. Rooks County is currently in Phase 2. If you are interested in getting on the list to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please call the health department or your primary care physician.
School districts will continue in-person for the week of March 8-12, 2021. If there is any adjustment required to the learning setting due to concerns in the schools, we will update your family quickly following a decision. Thank you for everything you are doing to keep our students in school and our community in a healthy place.

Congratulations to our 8th Grade Scholars Bowl Team!
3rd Place at Ellis and 2nd Place at Hill City. On Thursday they will compete at the Phillipsburg tournament. They will be at home on March 9th for our meet.

SGS PK-7 Students:
Our new school photographer, Julie Kuhlmann Photography, offers spring portraits. This is a new offering for us. She will be here on Tuesday, March 2nd, to take the portraits.
Each student will have two portraits taken. Approximately one week later, order sheets will be sent home with each child and parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to purchase.
