Today staff members were welcomed by Mr. Lowry, Stephanie Niblock (BOE), and Linda Conyac (Chamber of Commerce).
Noalee McDonald-Augustine was our afternoon presenter. She modeled solid social-emotional learning lessons and the integration of the state’s SECD standards into academic lessons.

Our USD 271 staff has had an exceptional three days of professional development and classroom collaboration time...we are even more excited to welcome our students to SGS and SHS on Friday!
Thursday is our SGS Open House. Visits to classrooms will be brief with an opportunity to meet your teacher and drop off supplies. This is for Preschoolers and 1st-7th grades. Kindergarten students have visits scheduled for Friday.
August 20th- 1st day of school for Grades 1-12
August 23rd - 1st day for Grades Preschool-Kindergarten
Our school day is 8:00am-3:30pm.
We ask that students not arrive at school before 7:40 am.
Breakfast will be served in the classrooms for Pk-7.
We'd like all students PK-12 to bring water bottles each day.
Students in grades Preschool-Kindergarten-1st will arrive at Door A (north door) and they will also dismiss at this door. If you have older children in your family they may also be dropped off at the same door.
Students in grades 2nd-7th will ARRIVE at Door C (main door). Students in grades 2nd and 3rd will DISMISS out of Door B (front north end). Students in grades 4th-7th will DISMISS out of Door C (main door).
Please watch for our students who will be walking, riding bikes, and using our crosswalks!
