Local Attractions
Webster Reservoir
Over 3,500 acres of open water surrounded by nearly 900 acres of prairie, this beautiful park, located seven miles west of Stockton, features campgrounds and picnic areas, swimming and hiking trails, volleyball courts, boat ramps, and a fish cleaning station.
Rooks County Courthouse
Built in 1923, in a neo-classic style, this structure is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in downtown Stockton, the courthouse houses Rooks County public offices.
Rooks County Museum
Journey back in time and glimpse the history of Rooks County through sculpture, exhibits, photos, and unusual collections. Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church
Located in Damar, this building is a beautiful example of classic Romanesque design. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the church celebrated its first mass in 1917.
Nova Theatre
Nova Theater, built in 1932, is a 200-seat multi-purpose theatre in Stockton. Restored, it shows movies every weekend and is available for event rentals.
Rooks County Fairgrounds
Located on the south end of Stockton, our fairgrounds were once part of the WPA building program. Today, the fair (which typically runs in August and has been held for over 140 years) features a free rodeo, concerts, carnivals, racing, 4H competitions, and much more! Tickets are available online.
