We are looking for your old games, to share laughter and learning with our FAMILIES!

We wrapped up math camp at the district office today. We laughed, learned, and played the last few weeks. I thankful for every kid who showed up and parents/grandparents/friends that brought them. I can't wait to see everyone thrive this coming year!

Good morning! The USD 271 enrollment details have been pushed out on our social media sites and they are available on our webpage. www.usd271.com.
ALL enrollment will take place online with the option of in-person enrollment taking place on Wed. 8/2/23. Staff will be available to support you with the online system and you can also make payments for meals and fees.

39 kiddos at math camp today! Check out these math rockstars 🌟!
Our littles are not only working on math but their fine motor skills with their paper clip chains! Our second graders are almost done with their treasure hunt riddles that focuses on place value, counting, and ordering numbers!
You would be so impressed with our 3-5th grade bunch! These mathematicians are working on place value with decimals! Have you ever seen a third grader know not only the place value but how to correctly say a number with a decimal?!
Then we have our 6-8th grade bunch who are dividing with decimals in both the dividend and the divisor! Let's not forget they are adding, subtraction, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
One more math camp on Monday! Hope to see you there! I have lots of games to send home!

Our @usd271 custodial staff continue to "restore the roar" in and around our facilities! We thank you all! #TigerPride271

We are excited to start the 2023-2024 school year and welcome new and returning students. This Enrollment Update is filled with valuable information on how to enroll for the new school year. We encourage you to follow our website www.usd271.com, social media and read alerts.

Our Math club had another great turnout today! Our K-2 group starting solving their missing treasure riddles, adding, subtracting, building numbers, counting goldfish, patterns, and sorting numbers. Our 3-5 graders really dove in and worked hard on brand new concepts! They are doing great with place value, rounding, expanded form, decimals, and comparing decimals. Our 6-8 grade group practiced their long division and will start fractions soon! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Again, thank you to Thelma for jumping in and helping our littles and for the snacks!

We want you to join our team!

Our summer lunch program will come to an end today, 7/20! We are grateful for our STAFF who planned and provided excellent meals (150-200 each day), for the federal grant that provided funding for the program, and to our USD 271 families for partnering with us! 🍉 🍎 🥕 🥛 🍗 #TigerPride271

Impressively enough our math groups hit another attendance record! We had 51 students show up today. Our K-2 grade group worked on identifying numbers, counting, adding 2 and 3 numbers together, comparing numbers, subtracting, and teaching our friends how to solve word problems using 10 frames. 3rd-5th grade worked more on place value, rounding, and now even some of our incoming third graders know place values for decimals (and how to say the number correctly!!). You wouldn't have thought they were in math class when you heard them laughing and strategizing their Yahtzee numbers! 6th-8th grade practiced more decimal operations and learned how to convert a decimal to a fraction. They are preparing to solve a mystery here next week using these skills.
I'm so thankful for Thelma Berland supplying the treats and helping all of our littles with their math skills. I'm also thankful we have had 3 older students at our K-2 class to help and lead our littles.

We are definitely blessed with the best crew! So much hard work goes into school preparation. You are appreciated! Tiger Proud.

Join our team! USD 271 is looking for a head junior high volleyball coach this FALL! We would love to have you! Reach out to sarmstrong@usd271.com or alook@usd271.com for an application. #TigerPride271

Math groups hit an all time high today. We had 47 students show up! We graphed goldfish, compared numbers, identified numbers with items, created number bonds, played place value Yahtzee with whole numbers and decimals, created decimal operation foldables, and had our students become the teacher to lead the class in multiplying decimals.
I'm thankful for our helpers today! Looking forward to tomorrow.
